You want to oppose Raila for ODM ticket? Pay Sh1 million

The National Election Board of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has set the minimum fee for the party’s presidential ticket at Sh1 million.
According to the new rules of elections released Wednesday, apart from the Sh1 million, you have to be a life-member of the party.
So far, ODM has only one flag-bearer, Raila Odinga, who will be the presidential candidate in the 2017 polls.
The chairperson of ODM’s Election Board Judith Pareno said the fee is “non-refundable” and has to be paid to ODM by a Bankers Cheque or deposited in the Party’s bank account.
ODM operates account number 01120006511100 at Cooperative Bank, Parliament Road Branch in Nairobi and also has the MPesa Pay Bill number 985900.
Those vying for gubernatorial posts will have to part with Sh500,000, those going for MP will pay Sh250,000, MCAs will pay Sh25,000 while the county woman representative will pay Sh125,000.

All the money is non-refundable, and will only qualify a person to vie in the party primaries, which if they win, they will be on the ballot. If they lose, that is the end of them.
said Ms Pareno.
The deadline for the payments is November 30, 2016.
Only public servants who want to join the party and to vie on the party’s ticket will be exempted.
the NEB chairperson said.
