Wiper, Ford K to crack whip on rebel MPs

Opposition parties Wiper and Ford Kenya are set to discipline rebel MPs who have openly declared support for Jubilee and the Amani National Congress.
Wiper Party Chairman David Musila on Monday said the party’s disciplinary committee had been instructed to deliberate on the issue of rebel MPs and report to the National Executive Committee.
At the same time, Ford Kenya Secretary General Eseli Simiyu said the party’s National Executive Committee will meet this week to deliberate on the formation of the disciplinary committee to investigate the conduct of rebel members, among them MCAs.
he said.
The move by the two parties comes a day after the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) on expelled 10 leaders from its party who had openly defected to the Jubilee Party.
Wiper party leader Kalonzo Musyoka in September put on notice the rebel who defected to the Jubilee party, saying that they must brace themselves for a by-election.

Musyoka said a by-election must be conducted in all the five constituencies in Ukambani whose representatives had shifted loyalty to President Uhuru Kenyatta.
However, the defiant MPs dared Musyoka to expel and subject them to by-elections and declared they would not allow themselves to be intimidated by anyone for working closely with the government for the betterment of their constituents.
