Why do Kenyan Artists Get Fat Shortly After Tasting Success?

Have you ever sat down and taken notice of the evolution of the Kenyan artists? Have you ever attempted to track the changes Kenyan artists undergo from when they first started out to how they look when they finally come up?

Ofcourse you haven’t. But that’s why you have Ghafla. And I found myself sitting down and wondering why Kenyan artists and celebrities gain drastic amounts of weight after they create one or 2 hit songs.

And to name afew, I am talking about the Noninis, the DK Kwenye Beats, the Osmans and the rest of them.
When I asked my colleague Sue, she said it was because the money was good. I beg to differ. I honestly think Kenyan artists just don’t care about their image beyond wearing good clothes and being seen in all the right places.

Look to Nigeria to understand what I mean. Guys like Flavour N’Abania, guys like Peter and Paul Okoye of P-Square, guys like D’Banj. These guys have been making cash for quite a while now yet they have elected to maintain their bodies.
Why? It’s because they understand that in entertainment, aesthetic appeal goes a long way in brand building.
The sexier you are the more you sell. In entertainment like in most areas of life, lean trounces fat. Look around, even internationally, the aesthetically appealling artists command the buggest crowds ergo make more money.
