What Octopizzo Has Been Doing Lately Should Be Every Artiste’s Wake Up Call

The established hip hop maestro has shaken the music industry before with scintillating lines that have prompted a rebirth of beef with his close musical nemeses. Octopizzo has always been tipped as the most established and exciting rapper of his generation and his exertion and devotion to the hip hop music has won the hearts of many an admirer.

This perhaps explains why the rapper landed a lucrative job with the UN to work as a goodwill ambassador at the Kakuma refugee camp in North Eastern Kenya.

And snce becoming one, Octopizzo has not disappointed. I am a keen follower of the singer and his desire to better the lives of refugees and women and children in these camps has clearly manifested itself.

He has been on and off to the North Eastern, has took off his expensive shoes and played football with the less fortunate in this region.  One would argue that Octo is doing this because he is paid to do so. Well, there is a Swahili saying that goes: Kutoa ni Moyo usambe ni utajiri (giving requires a kind heart, not how much wealth one has).

But isn’t this the way we would want every one of our artistes to go? I don’t mean they aren’t doing this. But for those who have not embrace such initiatives should already be asking themselves what they are giving to the society who look up to them.

Here is what Octopizzo is doing in North Eastern:
