Police had zero tolerance for protesters who poured out for demonstrations on Monday. One teenager was cornered by anti riot police and he lives to tell the tale!

Otieno was among those who were caught up in the drama that was witnessed in the street of Nairobi this past Monday.

Anti riot police nabbed him along Muindi Mbingu Street trying to access University Way where the main demos where to be staged.

The no nonsense cops manhandled him before he was heaved into a police lorry that was transporting protesters who had been arrested.

Otieno was taken to Central Police station where he faced a mountain challenge of convincing the cops he wasn’t part of the illegal demos.

The police bought his story but went on to lock him in the cell for lack of identification documents. His ID card which was in his wallet, got lost somewhere in town during the mix-up.

That is when I was called to assist a brother. I arrived at the police station after Otieno beeped me with instructions to carry money for the police bail.

The cops were demanding Kes 20,000 bail to set Otieno loose and I had only 12,000 with me, there was no way I could raise 8k that same day.
