Highlights on Uganda Cranes Vs Ghana’s Black Stars
We were almost getting there, and I know that every step we take is towards our success. Thousands of Ugandans gathered up to watch the Uganda Cranes beat The Ghana team, Black stars in order to qualify for the World cup, 2017. It is said that FUFA had awarded each player a sum of 3000 dollars as a bonus if they won, but Ghana did not let this happen either.
All hopes were lost as the country’s National team failed to score a goal against Ghana. The first half ended in a
0-0 draw, and the crowd got ready for the second, hoping it would change the mood of the day and give Uganda an Independence Day worth celebrating.
The second half went 0-0 too, till Ghana scored in the last minutes. The goal was however cancelled, an offside declared, which was not pleasing to the Black Stars.
Our goal was cancelled I do not know why. I do not like criticizing referees but for the game to grow in Africa, we need good referees,’ said Coach Kwasi Appiah from Ghana side.

Ghana has asked FIFA for the match to be replayed and held a protest over what they called unfair refereeing. Having beaten Congo this Sunday, Egypt therefore emerges successful in qualifying for the World cup in the group E, and Ghana is out.
On the other hand, team Uganda Cranes were not the only team fighting for a win. Team #togikwatako was also present at the stadium, with their red head band on, perfectly tied.
Their opponents, the police, with Kale Kaihura present however stopped them from accessing the stadium with the red pieces of cloth.
