Miss World Africa snubs Tulambula and joins Speaker Rebecca Kadaga in Kamuli
Immediately after snubbing tourism state minister Godfrey Kiwanda’s Tulambule Campaign, Miss World Africa Quiin Abenakyo has joined the Speaker of Parliament on a tour of Kamuli District. The beauty queen cancelled her tour with Uganda Wildlife and ministry of Tourism, which was supposed to be held last week, on grounds that she was sick.
Abenakyo was born in Mayuge District while Speaker Rebecca Kadaga represents Kamuli Women in Parliament.
Currently, the Busoga beauty, who runs under her brand-name ‘a project of keeping the girl child in school and stopping early pregnancies’ is traversing her mother region addressing girls in different schools.
Abenakyo is moving around schools in Busoga in the company of Parliament Speaker Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, sharing with the girls advice on how to stay in school and avoid early pregnancies for a bright future.
The two have already visited several schools, and others they are set to visit include Star Light Primary School where they will be handing over Primary Leaving Examinations certificates to the candidates that sat for P.L.E last year, Kamuli Girl’s school and St. Micheal International School, Ssonde.
They Visited Kamuli Girl’s school were the speaker encouraged the students to emulate Abenakyo who was once in secondary school and finish their degree.
Speaker Rebecca Kadaga says “even in her campaigns , she encouraged girl child to go to school and thats why i have brought her here today.” The speaker also pledged to buy the school a bus.
Whereas Abenakyo encouraged parents to endevour and take their girl child to school. She also cautioned students against joining notorious groups. Thereafter she was applauded by the students for being their role model.
