Katikiro Charles Peter Mayiga supresses rumours of his next move as Uganda’s next Vice president
Buganda’s Katikkiro Charles Peter Mayiga has come out to subdue reports that have been making rounds on social media and in the news that he is set to be appointed Uganda’s next vice president by president Yoweri Museveni, replacing, Hon. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi.
Word has been going through that it is actually for this reason that president Museveni met the Kabaka of Buganda Ronald Muwenda Mutebi to tell him about the imminent appointment. However, Mayiga says all this is falsehood and untrue.
He insists that he is still Buganda’s Prime Minister and at heart whereas he is concentrating on that, insisting that he is not planning to be, and doesn’t want to be Uganda’s vice president.
Charles Peter Mayiga’s detailed statement;
“ Waliwo ulugambo olutambula nti ngenda kulondebwa ku bwa Vice president; era nti president Museveni yasisinkana Kabaaka Mutebi II mu lubiri e Banda okumutegeeza amawulire go’kubeera omumyuka we. Sigenda kubera vice president. Nnina omulimu kabaka gweyankwasa era gwendiko. Ate nze sikukuta. Akuume. CPM.”
