MP Betty Nambooze Back From India After Successful Surgery.
Mukono Municipality Member of Parliament, Betty Nambooze has returned to Uganda after a successful surgery in India. The politician had sustained an injury, when anonymous government men entered Parliament in an attempt to take some MPs out during a disagreement. The MPs were to be suspended because they apparently caused confusion during discussions on the Constitutional Amendment Bill 2017 ,to remove Article 102 (B) of the constitution to lift Presidential age limit.
During the scuffle that erupted, The #Togikwatako advocate’s spinal cord was broken. Ten other Members of Parliament also sustained injuries. Betty was admitted, and our sources say she spent thirty days at Bugolobi Health Center. From there she received visits from Speaker of Parliament, Rebecca Kadaga and the opposition president, Dr. Kizza Besigye.
BETTY NAMBOOZE’S MEDICAL REPORT
The doctors then advised her to seek better treatment in India. Having gotten clearance from the Government, Betty Nambooze was then flown out for an operation.
The Member of Parliament underwent spinal chord surgery at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore in India. Medics explain this as a posterior spinal decompression and fusion L 4-L 5. She also had a lumber canal stenosis L4-L5 with stability and right lower limb radiculopathy. This one in particular needed her to have metals put in her spine. Our sources say that she spent a total of 8 hours in surgery.
Betty Nambooze also had some time in India to undergo radiotherapy, to enable her walk properly, and to straighten her back. Her operation was successful and she is now back in Uganda to her happy family. Welcome home Hon Betty Nambooze.
