Sophia, The Robot with Citizenship

This world is moving fast, and I may be starting to believe that the next War will be that between man and robots, because I can only question the safety of mankind with the regards to the events taking place this century.

History was made a few days back, when Saudi Arabia, granted a robot, that looks exactly like actress, Audrey Hepburn, citizenship.

The robot, called Sophia is a woman, and can make various facial expressions. Her eyes change with response to light, and she has the ability to detect human emotions.

She was made to be smart and intelligent, and expressed, that she is very curious to live.

Sophia, designed by David Hanson, from Handson Robotics was made to address a crowd at the Future Investment Initiative Conference, and she said;

“I am very honored and proud for this unique distinction. This is historical to be the first robot in the world to be recognized with a citizenship.”

Sophia however appeared on stage to address people without an “Abaya”, a piece of cloth that covers the head, required by the government to be worn by every woman.  This called for concern amongst many.

Sophia is still a topic being discussed by many. There is still.uncertainity as to whether she will conform to the same laws and rules as mankind, or special ones will be made, suited for robots.

She is the first robot to be granted citizenship, making Saudi Arabia the first country to grant citizenship to a robot.
