First Runner Up, Miss Tourism Uganda Receives Scholarship to Civil Aviation Academy

Being a beauty queen with brains is one admirable aspect, and First Runner Up, Miss Tourism Uganda is doing it. On top of the wonderful gifts she received after being crowned at the recently held Miss Tourism Uganda event, she is still receiving a lot of things. Recent news hitting our desks is that Gertrude Olungura, is off to Aviation school. Captain George Michael Mukula, the former Soroti Municipality Member of Parliament awarded  a full scholarship to her,  at the Uganda Aviation Academy.

Mukula has worked as  a personal pilot for HE Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, before he entered politics. He has seen this as a chance to create opportunity for another.

From our sources, we learn that this a happened during an event held to send off Amuge to China.

MISS TOURISM WINNERS 2017

Miss Gertrude came 1st runner up after the emerging winner of Miss Tourism Uganda 2017, the Karamoja princess, Elma Challa Kapel. The second runner up was miss Ayebare Anita from Ankole region.

ABOUT AMUGE GERTRUDE

Ms Amuge Gertrude Olungura, who is also from Teso region, and Miss Teso,  is just a first-year student of Bachelors of Community Psychology at Makerere University. Her father expressed that she had always wanted to join the Civil Aviation Academy, but could not because of shortage of funding. This thus comes as an appropriate opportunity for her, to expand on her dream and career.

Gertrude is also not only good at this, but also very talented. Our various sources report that she displayed a range of dances on her running to become Miss Tourism. Great job Gertrude and good luck in your career at the Civil Aviation Academy.
