“TV Interview Ina Wenyewe” After Poor Performance On Live Interview Laced With Boring Answers & Kalenjin Accent, Prominent Lawyer Calls It Quits
It was billed as the biggest TV showdown pitting up two of the most outspoken, moneyed and quite controversial lawyers, Ahmednasir Abdullahi aka The Grandmullah and Donald Kipkorir aka The Don.
The two had a mini face off online and then went on for the face off on Jeff Koinange Live. However, it ended up disappointing thanks to one of the interviewees, Donald Kipkorir. He was making a return to live TV interview after 20 years out and this was such a poor return.
Such was his performance even the blackout did not cover it up, thanks to what many on twitter called poor delivery, jungled up thinking and a specialty in being a keyboard warrior. Even the Don himself accepted his sub-par performance and this is what he said on his social media accounts:
“Last night, I appeared on #JKL Live on KTN for debate with my friend Ahmednasir Abdullahi, moderated by Jeff Koinange… It was my first time on tv debate and the only second time appearing on TV after twenty years. I realized that tv debate in Kenya isn’t meant to make cogent and foundational arguments as time isn’t provided for. The show doesn’t provide time for one to develop an argument. As a lawyer, every conclusion must be based on empirical facts and evidence (ratio decidendi) .. TV shows want conclusions without a road map; without foundational basis. We cannot deal with al Shabaab unless we know their religious underpinnings; we cannot fight corruption unless we deal with root causes and solutions et al. People like brawling on tv that is devoid on intellectual debate. I take consolation that people like Franklin D Roosevelt, America’s greatest President hardly appeared on tv. Others like Tiger Woods, Warren Buffet and Julia Roberts are very successful though they have fear of and don’t appear on tv talk shows because of tv shows formats . Yesterday was my first and last time on tv show and any media interview. Let tv shows be left to people who can shout or raise voices. We are all gifted differently, and appearing on tv is not one of mine. Let me practice my law outside the media.”
I guess this is just a tale of someone sticking to their lane. Here is the interview
