TOP 5 RAPPERS IN KENYA
It’s about that time when I take a keen look at the Kenyan Hip Hop scene and try to see whether there are guys bubbling or nah. And luckily, there are guys bubbling enough to get on my radar. The last time I told you about the rappers who are doing there thing and holding it down. After searching high and low, I think I can finally say I have a conclusive list.
I must say that while I wanted to include STL to the list, she got murdered on her own track so…
#5. Smallz Lethal
His performance in the track Ndizi Flow was electrifying. I just hope he’ll work on more material from now. But for the second quarter of 2014, he does it for me:

#4. Kristoff
the lad featured in STL’s Biashara Rmx and wouldn’t you know it, he managed to outshine the lass. And this is no mean feat given just how talented a rapper STL is.

#3. Wangeci
Wangeci recently went on tour in Britain -London I believe. But not before blessing us with a body of work that kept her fans and I must say, the highlight for me was seeing her hold her own in a song that boasted HHP and Kaka Sungura:

#2. Khaligraph Jones
Aye, the lad just had to feature here after he ate up STL and Kristoff when he featured alongside the pair in the remixed Biashara. He has also been consistently putting out an impressive body of work of late:

#1. Taio Tripper
For those of you who only know songs because they are on telly, then you will not feel me on this one. But for those of you who genuinely like good music, then you know Taio Tripper launched his first solo effort called Man Made Machine. Which btw, you can download for free on waabeh.com
That said, I have listened to the mixtape and I enjoyed it immensely. Lad had me feeling like he might be Wale in the flesh what with the poetry he embodied.
He takes you on a musical journey with his musical effort feeling like a kaleidoscope without the confusion, but all the intensity and fun. You have to check it out to understand what I am talking about.
