Too Fat For TV! Shock As TV Station Fires 8 News Anchors For Being Overweight (Photo)
You may have asked yourself why all the TV sirens seem to fit a certain description, mostly light skin, hardly any plump figures and attractive figurines.
Well, not just anyone gets to grace the TV screen and a pretty face is not just enough. This may explain why many leading TV faces are always eager to hit the gym after birth and all maintain their shapes because as some 8 female anchors found out, being fat can have quite harsh consequences.
A state broadcaster in Egypt, Egyptian Radio and Television Union has sent home 8 female anchors for being overweight. The station has given them a month off and they will be getting back on air only after their appearance is deemed appropriate. All the 8 will be paid full benefits for the period they are getting in shape.
The actions have drawn sharp criticism from rights bodies who have termed the decision as sexist and discriminating as only ladies were affected and even so, their weight had not been shown to affect their ability to deliver. Here is a photo of one of the affected ladies Khadija Khattab:
