This Is What Maina Kageni Did This Morning and Which Has Angered Many Kenyans

Late last week, the Nairobian’s Silas Nyanchwani and Tony Malesi wrote an article explaining the difficulties bachelors are going through as they tried to make ends contrary to what the society thinks about them and the manner in which they are perceived in the face of the world.

Many tend to believe that bachelors, as Nyanchwani and Malesi put it, lead the happiest lives and are problem-free.

This perhaps explains why Maina Kageni chose to speak about the same this morning on his Maina and King’ang’I show on Classic 105.

Maina had this heated discussion, strongly advocating for single parenthood and saying that no one forces the other to marry.

Maina’s position was that being a single parent is the best option because he probably believes marriages are full of difficulties and sometime squabbles that throw the couple into agony and eventually divorce, with accusations thrown from both sides.

Well, this seems to have rattled Kenyans who made contributions on the show.

Majority of those who called were clearly disgusted by the fact that Maina was using a national radio to propagate single parenthood and yet the holy books demand that people should get married to raise families.

Many Kenyans argued that it is prudent if a child is born and raised by both parents because this will help the child grow well and healthy.

His advocating for single parenthood and bachelorhood clearly angered a section of Kenyans.
