These Are The Garissa Attack Suspects Arraigned In Court Tuesday… And What The Court Decided

Five suspects believed to be behind the deadly Garissa University attack that left 147 people dead were arraigned in court Tuesday.

The four are accused of supplying ammunition used to carry out the attack and also housed the four attackers who ambushed the university and massacred innocent students whose main mistake was to look for education to better their future lives.

Al Shabaab has since claimed responsibility for the deadly attack.

The court granted police 30 more days to investigate the suspects — Mohammed Adan Surow, Osman Abdi Dakane, Mohammed Abdi Abikar, Hassan Aden Hassan and Sahal Diriye Hussien — before any charges can be brought against them.

Police say they want more time to investigate a sixth suspect, Tanzanian national Rashid Charles Mberekesho, who is being held in Garissa. Mberekesho was found in the university premises hiding and when questioned he said he is a student in the university something the institution has denied.

This comes after University students across the republic gathered in Nairobi to demand for improved security from the government.
