“There Is Probably No God, Let Atheists Be” Larry Madowo Shares His Thoughts On The Whole Atheists Issue
Larry Madowo has come to the defense of atheists asking people to let them be.
The celebrated news anchor took to his newspaper column to comment on the issue in typical fashion asking religious leaders to leave them alone as long as they did not harm anyone.
Larry started off on quite a controversial tone seeking to explain his religious background first saying ‘There is probably no God. Look, hear me out before you order me burned at the stake. Most people, including myself, still live as if there were a God anyway, in the hope of finding a version of paradise in the afterlife. I was raised Catholic, flirted with agnosticism in my late teens before settling for a new-fangled brand of Christianity that my father’s mother still considers a passing cloud.’
He went on to do a recap of the journey the Atheists had gone to get their association registered before it was again suspended. Larry went on to site the main problem among the leading two religions who have been most vocal chiding them for what he called an intolerance of divergent views. This is what he said,
“Christians and Muslims both exhibit an increasingly common Kenyan affliction: the inability to accept divergent views. Even supposedly educated people suddenly clam up and refuse to engage when it comes to politics or religion, or resort to insults. Arguments quickly become dogmatic and usually open-minded individuals become your run-of-the-mill fundamentalists.”
