“The Racist Is Dead..Justice Served” Tom Cholmondeley Dies And This Is How Kenyans Heartlessly Rejoice

In normal circumstances, yesterday’s news about Tom Cholmondeley’s death would have been ignored by many of the ordinary Kenyans.

However, it has been long since anything has been normal in this side of the Sahara. Given his killing of two people in separate incidents and serving only 8 months in prison for one of the cases, he was always a public enemy. To most, he was a symbol of not just the impunity and privilege of the rich but also a constant reminder of neo-colonialism.

When his untimely death was announced yesterday, Kenyans went online with all the vitriol believing divine justice had finally been served. Expressing the satisfaction at the turn of events, they felt it was deserved and were pretty callous in their celebration as they felt that this was a warning to similar scrupulous fellows who thought their money connections will have them set for life.

Here are some of the tweets. Do you think they were justified?
