Kenyan football fans will enjoy a rare treat when the famous English FA Cup trophy will take a tour of Kenya on Thursday and Friday.

This will be a special occasion for local English football fans as this is the first time the trophy has ever come to Africa.

According to the Emirates Airlines, the cup’s sponsors, the trophy will be accompanied by FA Cup ambassador and former English International player, David James throughout its maiden African trip.

Selfie opportunities

Football fans who participated in the cup’s competitions in each country will get the rare opportunity to attend an exclusive event where they will be allowed to take selfies with the trophy.

Kenya has a fanatic football base and the FA Cup trophy comes after a similar tour of the prestigious UEFA Champions League trophy in 2012 and the English Premier League Trophy in 2013.

The Emirates FA Cup is the oldest and biggest domestic football tournament in the world with a large global following and attracts millions of supporters across the world.
