‘The Amazing Spiderman’ to Premiere in Nairobi and You Have the Chance to Win Tickets

One of the biggest blockbusters of the year is set for its premiere this coming Friday at cinemas across Kenya’s capital, as movie lovers gear up for the newest adaptation to one of the most famous Marvel comics super hero characters.

The Amazing Spiderman hits international theatres on the 6th of July and it will be interesting to see what Director Marc Webb has come up with on what we hope will be a spectacular remake. What’s a bit worrying though is that Webb was behind only one other notable film, 500 Days of Summer, and this is a definite shift in genres.

There are a couple of competitions taking place giving movie fans a chance of winning a pair of tickets to watch the film either in 3D at Sarit Cineplex or in IMAX 3D at IMAX XX Century.

FOX Entertainment are asking fans to spot strategically placed Spiderman billboards around the city and to identify three elements of the poster. Easy FM on the other hand are asking listeners to say just what superpower they would love to have…the crazier the better. Here’s a brief synopsis of the the Amazing Spiderman:

Like most teenagers, Peter is trying to figure out who he is and how he got to be the person he is today. Peter is also finding his way with his first high school crush, Gwen Stacy, and together, they struggle with love, commitment, and secrets. As Peter discovers a mysterious briefcase that belonged to his father, he begins a quest to understand his parents’ disappearance – leading him directly to Oscorp and the lab of Dr Curt Connors, his father’s former partner. As Spider-Man is set on a collision course with Connors’ alter-ego, The Lizard, Peter will make life-altering choices to use his powers and shape his destiny to become a hero.
