Tanzanian President Cancels Independence Day Celebration… Rides A Bicycle From State House To The CBD To Pick Rubbish Off The Street (Photos)

He has been nicknamed ‘The Bulldozer’ and surely Tanzanian President is bulldozing Bongo people to development and to a better future.

John Pombe Joseph Magufuli is wowing the world with his actions which are a reminiscent of the former Uruguayan maverick head of state aka world’s poorest president.

Magufuli is determined to rid Tanzania of graft and steer it to development at any cost. Yesterday, the president cancelled the costly traditional independence day celebrations saying it would be shameful for his country to spend huge sums of money on the celebration while Tanzania was facing a serious cholera outbreak.

The Bulldozer instead rode a bicycle to the streets of the city to participate in a cleanup initiative. Thousands of Tanzanians joined him.
