Kenyans are quite the peculiar lot…you find them hurling all manner of insults on Facebook and exercising all manner of tribal bigotry but cuddle up together when it comes to desperate times.
That time came today when Raila Odinga shared a photo of his ailing daughter Rosemary for the first time and Kenyans came in unison to encourage him and his family to hold on during this bad times.
They were also quite elated by Rosemary’s progress and were happy she was recovering well. Not all of them though, lime one Burini Mwenda who implied it was Raila’s fault his daughter waa suffering in South Africa as he has done nothing all his while as a politician.
He went ahead to accuse him of building a big office instead on focusing on building and equipping hospitals. Well, Kenyans were not going to let hi abuse baba without giving them a piece of their minds.
Cord leader Raila Odinga was treated for food poisoning at Karen Hospital on Wednesday March 8th 2017- a few days after he attended the burial of former Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua.
Kenyans made fun of Raila’s food poisoning on Facebook, people came up with several theories to explain how Baba ended up suffering from food poisoning.
Ugandan newspaper also came up with an explanation why the ODM leader was rushed to hospital; Redpepper claims Raila was overdosed on Viagra. A photo of Nairobi Woman Represenative Rachel Shebesh accompanied that of Raila on the front page of Redpepper, it was meant to imply something.
The sensational newspaper is notorious for making up stories; it once claimed that Raila went on a spree goofing around with Kampala babes. This was last year in October when Cord leader joined Ugandans on the dance floor during a gala held at Kampala Serena hotel for the premiere of ‘Queen of Katwe’.
Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga was treated for food poisoning at Karen Hospital on Wednesday March 8th.
Raila’s spokesman Dennis Onyango told the press that the Cord leader was treated for food poisoning and allowed to go home. He further revealed that Raila would leave for South Africa on Thursday to visit his sickly daughter Rosemary.
Raila had a busy schedule before he was taken ill; he arrived from Nigeria a few days ago and went straight to Nyeri to attend the burial of former Nyeri governor Nderitu Gachagua.
From Nyeri, Raila attended meetings at at least three hotels in Nairobi — one in Westlands and two in the Central Business District, before he developed complications.
Kenyans on Facebook (KOF) came up with at least 7 theories explaining how Raila Odinga ended up suffering from food poisoning. Checkout the theories below:
Edward Mwenda: was it food poisoning or constipation due to overeatng at Gachagua funeral?
Drissie: Hii Mokimo na Githeri alikula Nyeri jana!!
Vumbiya Bahari: He ate raw Escargot, it’s very slimy. My cabbage patch has been invaded by snails, and I don’t like it.
Dennis Angelo: Kwani pia Rao anakulanga mtura kwa barabara….glad he’s recovering though
No Matusi: mahindi ya choma babarani
Dinah Barasa: Where was mama Aida , mzee akule food umepika pekee
Mary Muya: Mwambie aache kukula mitura ya ngala
Dan Nderitu: Mtu anakula monkey delicacies in Enugu then anakuja kuhala hapa.
Eng Peter Kinyanjui: Alikula ngege imeoza kichwa.
Ochieng Ochoro: This is equivalent to kusokotwa na tumbo na kuendesha. The rich refer to it as food poisoning. Sisi akina yahye tunanunua distop ya 10/- na driving inaisha. Nothing to worry about. Ignore the word poison.
Omogambi Nyachae: Ni omena alikula ilikuwa imelala siku mingi…sio sumu amewekewa. Foodborne illness, more commonly referred to as food poisoning, is the result of eating contaminated, spoiled, or toxic food. Infectious organisms — including bacteria, viruses and parasites — or their toxins are the most common causes of food poisoning.
He risked his life to have a word with Cord leader Raila Odinga but his efforts paid off finally; Meru James Bond and his brother have been offered jobs.
Julius Rigo Mwithalii popularly known as Meru James Bond made headlines after he clung on a chopper carrying Cord leader Raila Odinga.
Baba visited Meru County on January 26th 2017 to urge Kenyans to register as voters ahead of August 8th polls.
Mwithalii clung on Raila’s chopper as it took off from Maili-Tatu; he said he wanted to have a word with Rao that’s why he clung on the chopper.

Almost a month later after the terrifying incident, Meru James Bond finally met Cord leader at his office in Nairobi.
Daily Nation reports that Mwithalii met Raila at his Capitol Hill office alongside Meru County ODM chairman Robert Kathata yesterday February 21st.
Mr. Kathata told Nation that Raila promised jobs for Meru James Bond and his three brothers who are disabled.
More details of Raila’s meeting with Meru James Bond will be shared to the public on Monday February 27th when Raila holds a political rally in Meru County.
Earlier on yesterday, news broke out that Rosemary Odinga; Raila Odinga’s daughter had been admitted at Nairobi hospital under critical condition before she was later moved to Aga Khan Hospital.
This news drove Kenyans into frenzy with many worried and speculating what would have happened to the Kibra Constituency aspirant.
Well, as the family later revealed, she had been diagnosed with a brain tumor, but a minor one which doctors would take care of.
Even with that, Kenyans wouldn’t stop speculating and deriving all manner of analogies as to what exactly happened to her. This guy however crowned it all when he went on Facebook, specifically on Kilimani Mums and Dads and alleged that Raila Odinga had sacrificed his own daughter so as to win the on coming elections.
And apparently she’s not the first he sacrificed as the guy went ahead to imply Raila Odinga also sacrificed his eldest son Fidel Odinga and that’s why he passed on under mysterious circumstances and way before his time.
Look at the outrageous post he made:
And how Kenyans reacted; trust me they didn’t spare him one bit:
Rigo was not hurt unlike it was earlier reported, he was taken Maua Methodist Hospital for a medical examination and it turned out that he was just fine.
Police however arrested and charged him for endangering the lives of the people in the chopper he clung to as well putting his own life on the line.
Rigo told journalists that he clung on the chopper because he wanted to tell the Cord leader to give him a job.
“I am still appealing to Mr Odinga to try and secure me any job that will help me take care of my siblings,” Rigo told the press.
Eight months after a James Bond from Bunguma clung on a chopper carrying the remains of slain businessman Jacob Juma, another daredevil in Meru also hitched lift on a chopper carrying Raila Odinga.
Cord leader Raila Odinga has today visited Meru County to urge Kenyans to register as voters ahead of August 8th polls.
Residents in Maili-Tatu, Meru were shocked when a man clung on Raila’s chopper as it was taking off after the Cord leader concluded his meeting.
The chopper flew with the man hanging on it and disappeared from the horizon as residents watched in horror.
Milele FM reports that the Meru James Bond was seriously hurt and that he has been admitted to Meru Methodist hospital.
Just like many children of any political lineage, Rosemary Odinga recently announced that she was vying for a political seat.
She was particularly interested in Kibra constituency currently under the stewardship of Brian Okoth and which was under the reign of her father Raila Odinga for the longest time.
While she has received many accolades from especially women for her bravery, some quarters are simply having none of it. The first person to make this clear is public provocateur Robert Alai who simply describes Rosemary Odinga as shallow and completely incompetent.
Apparently the only thing she has achieved in her life is rare snails, hook up with communications guru Michael Okwiri and bask in the family name.
Kymo and Stigah are currently the most sought-after musicians in Kenya; the president enlisted their service to mobilise Kenyans who are eligible to vote to register as voters ahead of August general election.
Uhuru’s ‘Thitima’ remix wowed many when the video was released; Raila Odinga also released a video with Kymo and Stigah urging Kenyans to register as voters but the outcome wasn’t so impressive.
Kenyans on Twitter tore into the Cord leader for what they termed as copying President Uhuru Kenyatta.
Public provocateur, Raila’s number 1 enemy, Jubilee fanatic and many more are some of the names that befit Moses Kuria.
He never skips an opportunity to make headlines and every time he opens his mouth, be rest assured national healing and reconciliation commission to go knocking on his door.
A trusted loyalist to the Uhuru administration, he’s loved and loathed in equal measure depending on which part of Kenya you come from.
What I can guarantee however is that the Gatundu people are a happy lot where he’s the Member of Parliament as he plans to award them with cash just for taking part in the up-taking of voters cards.
He is fully aware of the current draught and the burning sun which is deterring people from going to take up voters cards and in that regard he’s rewarding Ksh 50 dehydration allowance to anyone who endures the sun to go take up a voters card.
He’s also rewarding any boda boda guy Ksh 50 for taking their time to take someone to a polling station to register as a voter.
I already see the smug on Team Mafisi members who opened this article thinking I was talking about the other dry spell; poleni sana.
Cord leader could easily have been locked out of August election as it turned out that he shared his National Identity Card number with another person.
Raila was shocked when he found out that he shares his ID No. 4838593 with a certain Ombai Maria Anyango who had been registered as a voter in his polling station.
The anomaly could have seen the Cord leader barred from voting in the August elections as IEBC as two people can’t share one ID number.
Cord co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka had also claimed that he discovered that he shared his ID card details with another voter who had been registered with similar details.
The Standard reports that IEBC officials have since found the woman who registered as a voter using Raila’s ID number.
IEBC traced the woman to Alego Usonga to change her particulars in order to allow both her and the Cord leader to cast their votes in August.
Odinga claims the anomalies in voter registration is a ploy by the Jubilee administration to lock out potential voters as similar reports were reported across registration centers in Nyanza region.
Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi is now confident a Raila Odinga candidacy will be easily trounced by Jubilee in August 8th poll.
Mutahi had earlier conducted a poll on twitter on January 12th which resulted in Raila’s victory over Uhuru.
But two weeks after conducting the poll, Mutahi has made a U-turn to reveal Raila will never be president; this was after a fake tweet appeared claimed that the political analyst had declared that Raila will be the next president of Kenya comes August.
Mutahi dismissed the tweet revealing that Raila was a slow-punctured politician who would never become king.
“In the meantime, the Cord sisters should be reminded that a Raila candidacy is a historical record of a persistent failure. To be dominated into this candidacy through fraud is therefore to succumb to a state of guaranteed failure. And history is our national witness on this matter, three times,” Mutahi Ngunyi spoke in a YouTube Video.
Mombasa governor has dominated headlines for the past two weeks ever since he exchanged fire with President Uhuru Kenyatta in public.
Joho caused a stir when he rejected the new security detail sent to guard his home in Nyali after the government withdrew his guards before sending back a new batch of officers.
The Mombasa governor disclosed that he had received reliable intel about the government’s plans that’s why he decided to reject the new officers and ultimately vacated his house.
Raila Odinga has further added fuel to the Joho saga revealing that Jacob Juma’s killers were planning to assassinate the Mombasa governor.
“People who killed businessman Jacob Juma now want to eliminate Mr Joho because of his political stand… let them try,” Raila spoke in Isebania town during his tour of Migori county to urge his followers to register as voters.
The Cord leader claimed that Joho had became a target because of his firm stand against Jubilee administration.
Every couple has a love story and after more than 30 years in marriage, Ida Odinga has finally spoken as to how she ended up with Baba.
Speaking at a funeral of the late Rok Ajulu, a professor who fled from Kenya and settled in South Africa, she spoke of her days at the University of Nairobi and her interactions with political scientists, lawyers and politicians and how she used to loath them. One of those men was Ajulu, the man being laid to rest and the other was ODM’s headliners James Orengo.
Ida Odinga spoke about how the latter conducted student uprisings at the University which eventually led to Ida spending 5 years in the university instead of 4 which the Bachelors of Education degree she was studying dictated.
After that she and friends vowed not to get close to politicians so it came as a sigh of relief when she met Raila who was an engineer. Right and then she knew he was the man for her.
However as fate would have it, it was never the case as Raila ended being out of the most astounding politicians we have in this country and is still is.
She has adapted well and together they are admired as one of the political power couples in this country having been through thick and thin.
January is not such a nice month to have birthday especially if you are not rich. The obvious reason being December drains all the cash you have.
Janet Mbugua and her twin brother, Timothy Mbugua, have turned 33 yesterday. They usually celebrate their birthday together.
Cord leader Raila Odinga clocked 72 in January 7th. He celebrated his birthday in Accra, Ghana where he had travelled to witness the inauguration of President Nana Kuffor Addo. It was Hassan Joho who threw him the surprise birthday bash.
Julie Gichuru turned 43 that same January 7th, so did Jeff Koinange who turned 51. Julie spent her big day with her husband who surprised her with gifts that brought her to tears.
Caroline Mutoko turned 43 on January 4th; she spent most of her time on social media appreciating those wishing her well on her birthday.
Kipchoge Keina and Ngugi Wa Thiong’o are other prominent persons whose birthdays fall in Njaanuary.
Moses Kuria is a man on the move, on the move to make sure he leaves a mark as we head into the elections.
While other politicians are still entangled in a dilemma of looking for parties and forming alliances, he’s way ahead having now refurbished his TV channel- it’s on YouTube though.
According to what he posted on his facebook page, the TV channel will mostly be used to broadcast daily commentary on political affairs as we head on to the ballot in August this year.
In the past, Moses Kuria has found himself in contradiction with the law having been accused numerous times of advancing tribal bigotry and inciting the youth from his community the Kikuyu. He has even ended up in court a few times on the same but nothing really happens to him.
Initially he used to use public gatherings to advance his hate but he had since advanced into the social media space where he sends out coded messages which are meant at hitting out at the opposition. Like this one he made recently:
Now with his own channel, we are all curious to see what he’ll be broadcasting especially against his number 1 nemesis Raila Odinga.
Wednesday January 4th marked the second anniversary since Raila Odinga’s firstborn son passed on under mysterious circumstances.
Fidel was found dead at his Karen home after a night out with friends; the cause of his death has not been made public.
Fidel’s death dealt the Luo community a heavy blow as he was thought to be Raila’s successor in Luo politics.
The Odingas issued a statement remembering their fallen kin; Raila eulogized his son saying Fidel was loaned to them for a season and that he was a true son, brother, father and friend.
“His soul shone through with an inner light that brightened even in the darkest of hours’ and that his presence created a calmness and assurance that we had never known then nor will ever experience again. As we remember you this year, we no longer mourn, weep or wail. For we know that thanks to your pure heart we will meet again. Your amazing life was a blessing to us, your passing left a void beyond words and your absence a pain beyond measure,” the statement read.
Robert Alai has decided to stoop low to attack Raila Odinga’s daughter who has nothing to do with his woes.
Politicians trade barbs every so often but rarely do they attack each other’s families; Robert Alai has hit Raila Odinga below the belt with his unwarranted gibe on Winnie Odinga, Raila’s youngest daughter.
The controversial blogger questioned the validity of Winnie’s Master’s degree all because of a family photo which didn’t look appealing to him.
“I thought Winnie Odinga is a photographer? Her dad said that she has two Masters in Media and Communication. But this is the best composition she could put on a photo of the man who aspires for the greatest office on this land?
Winnie, hauna game. This photo is destroyed by the background. You missed the chance. Rosemary Odinga’s photographer should give you some lessons,” Robert Alai commented on a photo of Raila Odinga and his family.
Alai has been attacking Raila and Cord in general ever since he switched allegiance to support Jubilee.
The man of the moment right now is Raila Odinga and this is all courtesy of SK Macharia and his controversial revelations that he won the elections in 2007.
He has remained silent about the issue one day later and KOT has gotten impatient of a social media blow up.
They have started their little fire in that little space of theirs called Twitter and currently the #SomeonetellRaila is currently trending- at number one actually and Raila Odinga is at the centre of it all.
You would expect some sympathy to befall the man who has done nothing but breed for this county. He agreed to forego his ambitions and take the prime minister position in that 2007 which has resulted to grotesque violence.
As a matter of fact, Raila Odinga was in the forefront of Kenya’s democracy which has since resulted to freedom of Speech that even allows you to own and operate a twitter handle.
KOT gives a rat’s ass about this as it goes ahead to attack Baba and all he stands for. These are some of the tweets:
President Uhuru Kenyatta’s approval rating has SERIOUSLY plummeted, if the result of the latest opinion poll is anything to go by.
Opinion poll conducted by renowned lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi to determine the popularity of Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta has send chills down the spine of Jubilee supporters.
Grand Mullah conducted the poll on Twitter between December 26 and 27th; a total of 7012 respondents participated in the poll.
The results put Raila ahead at 60% while the president’s approval rating was at 40%. Most people cited runaway corruption and the government’s inability to resolve doctors’ strike as the reason why they preferred Raila over Uhuru.
Jubilee supporters were however adamant that the poll didn’t reflect the opinion of most Kenyans; they argued that the opinions of 7000 Kenyans who participated in poll couldn’t be a representative sample of the entire population.
Y’all remember that time, about a year ago when Hassan Joho almost came to blows with Senator Mike Sonko in front of president Uhuru when he was in a month’s tour in the Coastal region?
Well, there might be an explanation for that and it’s coming straight from the horses mouth, his own father.
Mzee Joho has spoken about his son for the first time in an exclusive interview and he described him as fierce character who’s not afraid to say what’s on his mind something he might have inherited from his late mother.
“Ukali anao, lakini mimi najaribu kumcool namwambia usifanye ukali, si vizuri. Wewe ni mwanasiasa (He is strict, fierce, but I always try to cool him down and tell him to be calm. You are a politician),” Mzee Joho told Citizen TV.
And true to that, Hassan Joho has been one of the greatest critics of the Jubilee government and one of Raila’s Odinga trusted generals.
