Storm Brews On Twitter As KOT Goes After Daily Nation
The January 1st article on President Uhuru Kenyatta which was written on Daily Nation has caused a bitter strife in the country.
Kenya’s leading newspaper has come under heavy criticisms from the dreaded KOT following its decision to suspend a Senior Editor Special Projects, Denis Galava.
Galava wrote an opinion piece urging the president to up his game in 2016 and this was what made him cross the red line.
The decision to suspend Galava did not only infuriate typical Kenyans on the internet but even Daily Nation’s columnist, Larry Madowo, was also grumbling.
#ReinstateGalava has been one of the hottest topics on Twitter since yesterday evening. Kenyans have been firing salvos at Daily Nation with some saying Galava’s suspension for expressing his opinion proved the newspaper’s integrity and impartiality had totally been compromised.
Other sided with Daily Nation’s decision to suspend Galava arguing the newspaper decision was an internal affair which Kenyans shouldn’t be concerned with.
