Sonko Threatens To Resign In The Next 24 Hours If His Ultimatums Are Not Met

Mike Sonko has given relevant authorities a 24 hour notice to arrest killer kanjos failure to which he will tender his resignation to Senate Speaker.

Nairobi Senator is calling for the IMMEDIATE arrest and prosecution of rogue Nairobi City askaris who are killing hawkers left right and center.

Sonko says a total of 19 hawkers have been killed like wild animals over the past 12 months by kanjos.

“Recently, a female hawker was arrested, raped and bottles inserted in her private parts. On December 31, 2015, a hawker by name Kazee was arrested by the askaris, beaten and forced to lie down on the road and unbelievably, the County van registration number KAW 696Z run over his head killing him instantly and sadly again this was done by askaris who are well known and have been positively identified yet no action has been taken as they continue harassing innocent hawkers bragging that they are untouchable. The body is still at City Mortuary awaiting burial. I condemn in the strongest terms possible these beastly acts.” Sonko wrote in part.

Sonko says the brutality of kanjos is eating through his conscience that he would rather resign if no action is taken against perpetrators of the heinous crimes against city hawkers.

“I have given the concerned authorities a 24-hr notice to arrest the culprits failure to which I will be left with no alternative but to tender my resignation to the Senate Speaker. This is not about playing politics or seeking sympathy from the electorate but my conscience cannot allow me to continue earning salaries and allowances as the people whose interest I am supposed to protect are murdered in cold blood.”
