Sonko Splashes Half A Million On The Githurai Super Cop ‘Katitu’ Who Has Been Rotting In Prison For Killing Two Brothers
Last year, thousands of protesters took to the streets of Githurai to demonstrate against the arrest of Katitu, the super cop who single-handedly ended crime in Githurai.
Police Constable Titus Ngamau Musila aka ‘Katitu’ is a hero in Githurai but a criminal in the eyes of the state.
Last year, Katitu gunned down two notorious heavily armed brothers who were terrorizing Githurai resident with theft.
The deaths of Kenneth Kimani Mwangi and Oscar Mwangi was what ended the career of the beloved Githurai super cop.
Katitu was arrested after the gangsters’ relatives filed a complaint with Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA), accusing him of extrajudicial killings.
His arrest sparked unrest in Githurai as residents protested demanding their hero to be freed. The chaos in Githurai attracted Sonko’s attention who decided to do everything within his powers to ‘rescue’ Katitu.
Sonko through his lawyer, Cliff Ombeta, have been fighting for the release of the super cop in the corridors of justice but their relief only came yesterday.
Justice Wakiaga allowed Katitu a Kes 500,000 bond which the Nairobi Senator willingly paid to secure Katitu’s release.
The super cop was rotting in Industrial Area Remand Prison ever since he was apprehended last year for the alleged murder of two gangster brothers.
