Something Very Outstanding You Don’t Know about Crossover 101’s Gorgeous Faith Muturi

Did you know that for the past 6 years, the beautiful CrossOver host has been running Simama Outreach Trust? This is a mentorship program based in Majengo slums which addresses issues young people face such as drugs and alcohol abuse, prostitution, unemployment and peer education.

Unemployment being the biggest issue facing the Youth in Kenya, she & her team have decided to be the solution. They went to the University in South Eastern Kenya University with various professionals. They are aware about unemployability- whereby employers claim that Generation Y are educated yet ill equipped for the workplace. Also, research shows that 70% of start-up businesses fail in their 1st year.

Professionals from  Human Resource Management, Administration, IT, Counselling, Writing, Education, Agriculture, Business & Aviation facilitated group sessions, painting the picture on what it really takes to thrive in the respective careers.

This will followed up by an electrifying concert in conjunction with System Unit. Willy Paul, Dk Mwenye beat, Size 8, Hope kid & Benachi who gave outstanding performances. Top Hype man MC Njugush & Dj Mo kept the crowd on their feet.

Overall feedback at the end of the day was that it was fun & there was a vast willingness to learn. The students felt that their questions were addressed. They were ecstatic as this was the biggest youth-centred event ever held on the school.

This is clearly a start of something amazing; the start of a revolution. Who knows, they may be visiting your school next!’
