Shocking and Shameful Photos Of The Delapidated Housing Where Kenyan Athletes Have Been Left in Rio As They Await A Cheaper Flight
The Rio Olympics have been filled with plenty of drama but while our athletes against all odds delivered an outstanding performance, the organizers and sports ministry have failed them greatly.
Even before the athletes started competing the whole drama of money being squandered and athletes mishandled was playing out to the world in the media. Coaches were being left behind, athletes tickets were delayed and NOCK officials and MPs had fun partying lavishly in Hollywood at their expense.
Now with the Olympics done and the Olympic village closed, more shocking information has been released of the fate of Kenyan athletes left behind in Rio. The NOCK officials were apparently waiting for cheaper flights and resorted to taking the Kenyan athletes to a rugged down ghetto area in Rio where security and social amenities are scarce.
Wesley Korir the MP athlete has released photos showing the surroundings where other marathoners and sprinters were relocated. Eliud Kipchoge the marathon winner was forced to get his own ticket back home.
The walking team and boxers are also among the team left. The Mp who participated in the marathon has highlighted the situation piling up pressure on sports CS Hassan Wario to resign. Here are the shameful photos;
