Shell Petrol Station Ridgeways Shut Down Indefinitely After This Man Was Caught Pants Down With A Motorist Doing What You Would Never Imagine (Photos)

An ugly scene was witnessed yesterday at Shell Petrol Station Ridgeways as the fuel attendant was busted by a motorist who had an eye for details.

Who would imagine being conned at a petrol station by the fuel attendant, not just any petrol station but Shell Petrol Station Ridgeways????

Photos of one Joseph Mwaniki are doing rounds on the social media after he was caught pants down conning a motorist using an unofficial machine to swipe cards.

Apparently there is a cartel that is colluding with petrol attendants to steal from unsuspecting motorists using debit and credit cards when fueling.

Rogue petrol attendants use a machine known as a skimmer which obtains data from motorists’ debit and credit cards which they use to duplicate ATM cards and withdraw money illegally.

How it works is that the petrol attendants take a card from a motorist when fueling at a petrol station then swipes it on the original machine before repeating it on the skimmer.

Yesterday a motorist fueling at Shell Petrol Station Ridgeways noticed Joseph Mwaniki swiping his card on an unofficial machine and he decided to inquire what he was doing.

Upon noticing he was getting busted, Mwaniki took to his heels but the determined motorist pursued him. The petrol attendant was subdued by the motorist and citizens who joined the chase.

Mwaniki tossed the card skimmer he was using to steal client details for fraudulent purposes while he was fleeing.

The suspect was taken to Gigiri police station and he’s expected to be arraigned in court today. Meanwhile Vevo Energy Kenya, the company operating Shell petrol stations, has shut Shell Ridgeways indefinitely as investigation into the fraud is being carried out by detectives.
