See The Staggering Amount Sonko Spent To Give His Late Father The Presidential-Like Send Off. Unbelievable!

Yesterday, Mzee Gideon Kivanguli was finally laid to rest at Sonkos’ family home in Mua Hills, Machakos County.

The meticulous funeral was attended by President Uhuru Kenyatta and other notable figures within political circle including Sonko’s buddy-cum-foe Dr. Evans Kidero.

The intriguing question though; just how much did the philanthropic Nairobi Senator cough to give his late father a presidential-like burial?

Let’s start with the gold and diamond encrusted casket Sonko’s dad was buried in. The well decorated coffin comes at a price that is enough to buy two Toyota Vitz and still be given change.

According Funeral Arrangements Guide, the price of any casket made of metal, fiberglass or hardwood like mahogany, and which are embellished with pricey gems, costs more than a million bucks.

So probably Sonko spent seven figures to buy his father the casket that everybody was talking about for better part of yesterday.

Another thing, the funeral was covered live on KTN. Live coverage of any event costs more than hiring a chopper.

KTN charges Kes 1.2 million per hour to cover live events. Mzee Gideon Kivanguli’s funeral lasted for approximately four hours. Do the math!

4 hours times 1.2 million equals 4.8 million. That’s the sum Sonko probably parted with to have his dad’s funeral covered live on a national TV.

The casket, the live coverage plus other miscellaneous expenditure means Sonko could have spent over 5 million shillings for his father’s send off.
