Soweto Gospel Choir welcomes members from the Grammy Awards
Members from Grammy award winning group Soweto Gospel choir. This was at the O.R Tambo International Airport.
The group had gone to the US to represent them choir team in the Grammy awards.
The members, Mulalo Mulovhedzi, Mary Mulovhedzi and Shimmy Jiyane were greeted with a welcome. Theirs was like no other from their prior Grammy wins.
Speaking about their win and arrival, Mulalo, the son of the late David Mulovhedzi, who co-founded the group, said this was exactly what his father would have envisioned. “My father has always been a community builder and leader, growing up in Xawela, our home was always a home for the community. He had a soccer team and a clap and tap choir that’s where the dream started.”
