“She did not deserve to die like that” – Friend to assaulted make up artist says
“Ntombozuko Peter was a sweet God-fearing person. She really had a beautiful soul and went out of her way for others. I’m still in shock about what happened – she did not deserve to die like that.” Nontandathu Pangwa, said of her childhood friend.
29-year old Ntombozuko was viciously beaten, and later succumbed to her injuries at Livingstone Hospital, on Sunday. She was declared brain dead shortly after arriving at the hospital in the company of her boyfriend and family friends. She was heavily bruised and appeared to have been continuously beaten with a sharp object.
Her boyfriend remains a suspect in the case as Ntombozuko had opened assault charges against him in June, but withdrew them.
“He went to her work and struck her, and he was even banned from entering the place again by her employer. Ntombozuko withdrew the case and we fought with her about it,” her sister Ntomboxolo Peter said.
“She was known for her many talents… she was an awesome and amazing woman and indeed had a bright future ahead of her.”
Ntombozuko’s funeral is set to take place on Monday, the 25th of September.
