Moonchild has moved on from drug ordeal
Despite what happened to her in Namibia, Moonchild is past the ordeal and looking forward to future shows in the country.
She was handcuffed at the airport after she was accused of drug possession at an airport in Namibia.
The moment was captured by her using her cellphone, and she posted it on Instagram.
“I’m in Tanzania and I can’t make the Cape Town show because people don’t understand colour and they just have to be racist about everything, and you have to call them madam, but you don’t even have drugs. Just because you look like drugs … They didn’t find drugs,” Moonchild said.
She had claimed she was in Tanzania, but later revealed she might have made a mistake as she was not in the right state of mind.
“It was the worst experience of my life – I even suffered bruises,” she said as she showed the marks on her left hand.
“They thought I was in possession of drugs – this is sad because I’ve never touched drugs in my life.”
She said the matter had since been sorted out and she would not press charges.
“I am doing just fine,” added the bubbly musician.
Although Moonchild was treated badly, she still had the time of her life performing for Namibians.
“I had a great performance. It’s just sad that ignorant people tried to spoil my fun. But what I learnt is that there are countries that are still oppressed.
“We must be happy to call South Africa our home.”
