Jazz musician Dorothy Masuka dies
Veteran jazz musician Dorothy Masuka has died at the age of 83. Details surrounding her death are however still unknown.
Confirming the news of her death, Arts and Culture Minister Nathi Mthethwa made a tribute on social media.
“A baobab tree has fallen with the passing of a one of a kind Musician, the legendary Mama Dorothy Masuka,” he wrote alongside a photo of the late singer.
“Her music was the soundtrack of some of our most joyful moments & the light of our souls during our darkest hours.”
Masuka was born in Zimbabwe and was popular throughout the 1950s.
