Brickz sentenced to 15 years in prison

Yesterday saw popular musician Sipho Ndlovu (Brickz) sentenced to 15 years in prison.

He was found guilty of the rape of his 17-year old niece, in his home in 2013.

The magistrate, John Baloyi, felt that 15 years was appropriate as Brickz did not show any remorse. By deciding not to testify, Brickz did not hold the court in confidence.

He added that Brickz does not feel guilty despite the evidence that shows the victim is emotionally and psychologically affected.

Because he did not show any remorse, the magistrate said he is not a suitable candidate for rehabilitation.

The sentence was given at the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court.
