Winnie Mandela discharged from hospital

Political stalwart Winnie Madikizela-Mandela has been discharged from the Milpark hospital. She had been admitted to the facility 10 days ago. This is after developing health challenges.

The family released a statement on Tuesday. They are delighted that Madikizela-Mandela has now been discharged from hospital.

“I’m pleased to be going back home where I’ll be able to rest and fully recuperate from the short illness. The doctors and nurses who looked after me were wonderful” said Madikizela-Mandela.

Ailment

She was suffering from a kidney infection and also suffering from exhaustion.

Before admission, Madikizela-Mandela had complained of a “loss of appetite” and pain in one of her legs.
