Global Citizen ends in chaos
South Africans were treated to a night of a lifetime as some of the world’s biggest stars performed live at the FNB stadium in Jo-Burg.
Sadly, the fun was shortlived as the fans were mugged and attacked as they left the concert.
Criminals who had targeted the festival, had a feast as they attacked and robbed many helpless concertgoers off their possessions at the Sasol garage.
Fans took to social media to share their ordeals in the hands of the criminals.
The Global Citizen has issued an apology following the events.
Here are the Tweets
I can’t even comment on how amazing #GlobaCitizenFestival was because of the traumatic experience I experienced at the Sasol Garage trying to get home after #GlobalCitezenFestivalSA ! –

What the hell happened last night? JMPD was EVERYWHERE before the concert but nowhere after the show. My little brother (15 years old) & I had to run away from men trying to take our phones and kidnap us. Police did nothing to help us! #GlobalaCitizenFestivalSA #Sasol #FNBStadium
