Radio presenter Ian Ward diagnosed with terminal cancer

Ian Ward has been in the radio industry for the past two decades ago. Five years ago, he was diagnosed with colon cancer, went through the treatment and was even in remission. Twice a year, he continued to have blood tests and x-rays to ensure his cancer had not returned.

However, during a routine check-up last month, there was an indication in Ian’s cancer markers. He was sent for an MRI where a tumor was discovered in his heart and right lung. A bronchoscopy revealed that Ian has non-small stage 3B lung cancer.

His terminal diagnosis has hit his fiancee Stacey Robertson, and their 8 year old son, Tristan.

Ian is now set to begin high doses of chemotherapy at Tygerberg Hospital.
