Nandi Madida to showcase Color at Paris Fashion Week
Nandi Madida has been making major strides in the fashion industry. In February, she showcased her clothing label Color at the New York fashion week.
She recalled where her love for fashion came from.
“At my 30th birthday party Minnie Dlamini reminded me that when I was 14 [or] 15 I was selling t-shirts. And she also reminded that I said I’d showcase at New York Fashion Week.”
“I can actually give you an exclusive. I will be collaborating with a gentleman called Omar – his label is called Sukeina. He’s actually been dressing Naomi Campbell of late, but he’s dressed a lot of people, including Thandi Newton for her last photoshoot. He lives in New York and we’re going to be collaborating on our collection for New York Fashion Week.”
“I was very fortunate. I got the chance to see the Chanel showroom at the Rue Cambon. That inspired me so much because what a lot of people don’t know, from a commercial perspective of course New York is the hub for fashion, but from almost like a scholar perspective, that’s what Paris is about. It’s almost like when you get a nod from them in Paris then you really understand fashion and what it’s about. Because they’re all about the craftsmanship and the process of creating a garment. I’m excited to showcase there.”
