Pearl Thusi pays emotional tribute to Ma Winnie Mandela

Pearl Thusi has shared many memories with Ma Winnie Mandela since their first meet up in 2014.

News of her death thus left Pearl shattered to the core.

She has now come out a week later, to speak on the pain in her heart.

“I was in tears instantly when I found out. In sheer disbelief. And all through this period, I’ve been meditating on all that is you. Beauty. Love. Power. Resilience. Passion. Pain. Strength. Hope. Kindness. Wisdom. And so much more.”

Pearl hopes to live a life that Ma Winnie will be proud of.

“I am so proud to be one of your daughters. I hope that as I accomplish what is necessary for me to be called home too, that you embrace me with my biological mother… And say you’re proud. I pray you tell me in that low, smooth, soothing voice, measured, yet unable to hide your passion – that I kept the torch alive & was wise enough to pass it on.”

Ma Winnie died last Monday and will be given a state funeral on April 14th.
