Donald Kipkorir is a man who doesn’t shy from publicity and hardly gives a hoot of what the general public thinks of him and whatever media misconstrues of him are.
However, his recent stunt of flossing the latest Range Rover Sports in place got so much attention than any of his previous public displays of affluence. In an interview with Jackson Biko for Nairobi News, DBK got to reveal a previously unknown side of him from his work, his flamboyance and family and marriage.
From as boy who grew up in poverty in the village his drive for success and his enjoyment of is expected. DBK calls it a celebration of life. He denied being a slave to material stuff as he discussed how he began his career form his one and only employer Moses Wetangula to his private practice.
For those who doubted if he spends what he earns, he boasts a wide portfolio of clients past and present for state corporations to private companies and has built a reputation as one of the most successful and skilled corporate lawyers.
We did rank him as one of the most eligible bachelors in town at 48 years and the good lawyer did confirm that. He revealed the reason why he is not getting married to be his experience of his mum and father’s marriage. According to DBK this could have affected his view of marriage as he is quoted saying
“My mum didn’t have the best of marriages. My dad died about seven years ago, but he wasn’t the best father or husband. My mum wasn’t the happiest woman and I don’t want to have such a relationship. But I don’t want to have a marriage like my parents’. Maybe that’s one of the issues that’s holding me back.”
This is not to say he doesn’t have children the lawyer revealed to have several children both biological and adopted. The children live with their mothers something the lawyer says he has found to be challenging due to limited time.
