Rapper STL And Company Shut Down The Streets Of Nairobi (Photos)

The revered rapper hit the streets of Nairobi sometimes today morning to echo the message of Kenya’s only female Nobel laureate, the late Prof Wangari Maathai.

Environmentalists and nature lovers assembled at Jeevanjee Garden to kick start the annual celebration for the struggles of the late Wangari Maathai.

The memorial for the fallen heroine who is best remembered for her non-violent struggle for the conservation of the environment, women empowerment and peace building, is usually held at Karura forest where participants plant trees in honor of Maathai.

Those taking part in commemorating Wangari Mathai converged in the CBD, Jeevanjee Garden. Among those participating was Stella Mwangi. The rapper joined thousands of other participants as they matched through the streets of Nairobi.

Traffic in the CBD came to a standstill as STL and company make their way through various roads. The theme of this year’s celebration was Climate Change.
