Popular Radio Presenter On The Spot For All The Wrong Reasons.

Gathoni Wa Mushoba is not an entirely new name to most of us that still have time to listen to radio, I started listening to her from tender age of 10, a decade later,  she is still charming people on Mediamax’s owned Radio Kameme Fm where she hosts a popular program “Muiguithania” loosely translated to “Reconciler” a program where she tries to reconcile broken families… blah blah blah. 

 Now, Lawyer and Columnist, Wahome Thuku shared this disturbing information on social media this morning: 

It’s about my friend MOSES DOLA. Moses is the former NTV journalist who is charged with the murder of his wife.Wanjiru Kabiru. He is out on bond. Last month he saw an advert on Kilimo TV for cameramen, reporters, editors..etc. He applied for a post of cameraman. He was interviewed by senior editor Rashid Ronald who recomended him and others to the MD Gathoni Muchomba. He was then called start the job on April 21. But due to his murder case, the MD was uncomfortable with him. The MD confided in some people that though Moses was good, he had a personal challenge to deal with. On May 11 he was fired on ground that he didnt meet their standards in news writing, reporting and voicing. He was not paid anything. Yet the station used and is still using all the material he had recorded for those few days. He had been hired as a cameraman not reporter.

From what I have gathered, one is innocent until proven guilty, Moses is innocent until the court can make a connection to link him to the death of his wife. Gathoni had no right to crucify him on whatever grounds, in fact some of her radio show are plain absurd, she has brought reformed criminals, devil worshipers- a twaddle of reformed evil, people who have confessed to causing accidents, luring victims and other gory details that I shall skip.

A former NTV cameraman didnt meet standards of Kilimo TV. I have refered him to a good lawyer to look at his case. Now, I have alot of respect for Gathoni. Eeryone has a right to decide who to work with. Infact this would be no big deal were it not for the fact that every Satuday morning I wake up early to listen to her show on Kameme FM, called Muiguithania (reconcilor/reconciler) where she reconciles families with very ugly dispute and fights. Given that public image, she was the last person I would have expected to do this to a young man who is trying to pick up after years in jail. But that is her true colour. I even hear many women who are famous human rights activists treat their housegirls like slaves. “Human rights ni huko nje si hapa”. But may be Gathoni is right, anyone with a pending criminal case should never be hired, including those with serious ICC cases.

Was the MD  justified to fire the said camera man on grounds that he was a suspect? And if he was truly bad as they indicated, why use his works after firing him?  

A case of preaching Water and chilling with Wine? Huh?
