Police Lock The Wife Battering Papuan Man At Kasarani After UNEP ‘Disowned’ Him (Photos)

He has been on the run ever since he attacked his Kenyan wife, Ruth Gakii, at her house along Kamiti Road. But mbio za sakafuni mwishowe huishia Ukingoni.

Alphonse Kambu, the UNEP employee who brutally battered his Kenyan wife, has been apprehended after evading cops for the last three weeks.

The Papua New Guinea citizen initially enjoyed immunity from local court process but he was stripped of the diplomatic privilege due to the nature of his crime.

UNEP says its employees enjoy immunity from legal process only in respect of words spoken, written and acts performed by them in their official capacity.

Since Kambu acted on his individual capacity to abuse Ruth Gakii, UNEP had no choice but to cooperate with Kenyan police to see justice take its course.

Yesterday, Police caught up with Kambu while he was driving within Garden Estate and took him to Kasarani Police Station.

The Papuan wife batterer is expected to be arraigned in court today to answer to the criminal charges.
