Photos of the only female GSU officer killed in Naivasha accident alongside 10 male colleagues
11 General Service Unit (GSU) from an elite squad tasked with protecting the president perished in the grisly road accident in Naivasha. One of the officers who died was a lady.
GSU officers from the Presidential Guard based at State House were among 43 people who died in the freak accident that happened in in Karai area along Nakuru-Nairobi Highway.
The officers were traveling back to Nairobi from Bomet where they had gone to protect the president in his tour of Bomet County.
A total of 12 officers were travelling in a Toyota Landcruiser registration number GKB 961G; only one of them survived the ordeal.
The 11 who perished were:

Photos of the deceased have been released even as DNA analysis is being conducted to identify the bodies that had been burnt. Esther Mungai was the only female GSU officer in the ill-fated Landcruiser.
