Papadakis, Cizeron swing into action in Paris

Two-time world ice dancing champions Gabriella Papadakis and Guillaume Cizeron got their season into full swing Friday achieving top scores in the short programme at the Grand Prix de France in Paris.
The French duo improved their previous short programme best by two points, scoring 78.26 to lead Russia’s Elena Ilinykh and Ruslan Zhiganshin (68.72) going into Saturday’s free dance final.
Competing in their first Grand Prix of the season, the 21-year-old dancers performed their new programme to Blues and Swing rhythms in front of their home crowd in the Paris-Bercy Arena.
The pair will bid for third straight European and world title next year before their bid for gold at the Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang in 2018.
