P-Unit’s Frasha Keynote Speaker at Forum to Sensitize Musicians on New Opportunities

Mdundo.com, officially launched in December 2013, will hold an investment forum for artists in Kenya at its offices along Ngong’ Road on Tuesday, 15th January starting from 2:00 p.m. They key speaker at the event will be P-Unit member, Frasha.

Mdundo are the innovators of a music scratch card service that enables the user to buy and download music to their phone. The music is also available online and can be purchased via mobile money.

The platform has been received well by artistes with sign up of up to 80 artistes in the last four months. Read about that here. Artistes get the cards printed for free and keep 100% of the revenue generated from sale of the cards.

The forum will educate artistes on generating more revenue through adopting modern sales techniques, while signing more artists to the mdundo platform. Artistes signed so far include Nazizi, Octopizzo, Mbuvi, Juliani, Alice Kamande, Israel Mugisha, Collo, Chris Adwar, Mercy Masika, Bamboo, Dan-Gee, Parking Lot Grass and Villagers’ Band among others. The platform is banking on the high mobile phone penetration across Africa to reach audiences with quality and affordable music. Mdundo is funded and mentored by Africa’s first accelerator program 88mph, in partnership with Google for Entrepreneurs.
