Ogopa Now Agrees to Release Tracks for Avril, Mustapha & Kenzo Weeks after Rudely Terminating their Contracts. But…

The management at the country’s leading production power house and record label, Ogopa Deejays, seems to have had a change of heart. This comes a month after the record label dismissed some of the top singers who have been with the label for years.

Earlier today, a communiqué from Ogopa indicated that the management has decided to release some of the half-finished or completely finished projects from ONLY 3 of the artists who were shown the door without prior warning.

However, the communication from Ogopa points out that the artists have not been reinstated to the South B based production house with a rich continental recognition. In part, the dispatch read;

“…After pressure from colleagues following the release of the Viola Karuri and the need to eliminate the bad blood, Kenzo’s, Avril’s and Mustafa’s works will be released…”

But what do the artistes have to say about this?

Well, according to Kenzo, he was called up by Lucas (CEO & Creative Directive, Ogopa) and told that his projects will be released but he didn’t mention a thing about the contract. Asked how many of his tracks will be released, Kenzo says;

“Nilirecord a lot of songs which were ready for release however Ogopa will only release one song and then I’ll release the rest at my own pleasure after they are handed to me.”

We however sought to find out only three artistes were recalled to have their projects released. Kenzo is quick to point out that he wouldn’t know why the rest were called back but the explanation he got is that;

“They felt like I am hardworking and my potential hasn’t been fully exploited that’s why niliitwa.”

Mustapha whose projects were also ready for release a month ago, has also commented about Ogopa’s latest move. He reveals that he’s about to release a track with his new found love, Huddah. He however totally refused to reveal more detail about the song.

According to Mustapha, Ogopa have been compelled to release his track following the demand from the public.

“Ngoma imeitishwa sana na naona hio ndo imefanya Ogopa waamue kuirelease.”

He adds that he’s scheduled to meet Lucas today to discuss on how the song will be released before he can talk to us about it.

For now, let’s wait and see if there will be more drama smoking out of the Ogopa chimneys.
