Nyeri County Women Representative shamed after a low contribution in church fund raiser

The Nyeri County Women Representative Priscilla Nyokabi was among the guests invited for a fundraising function at a Catholic Church in Nyeri County.
When it came to her turn to give, Nyokabi handed out 2,000 shillings as her contribution. The shocked audience could not fathom that someone of her stature could contribute such a negligible amount.
The presiding priest, Father John Mbai was forced to read the amount again after the congregation could not believe it the first time.
Her contribution was in stark contrast to what other invited guests contributed. One gave out 110,000 Kenyan shillings while another gubernatorial aspirant contributed Ksh.20, 000.
Incensed church members spoke to the Nairboian expressing why they felt the Women’s Representative could have done better.
Many felt Priscilla had demonstrated high handedness and proved the kind of person she is.
Speaking to the same newspaper, the woman representative defended herself. She acknowledged indeed contributing just 2,000/- but denied being mean or miserly.
Instead she said she is always invited in a number of harambees in the county and the amount she gives is dictated by the number fund raising events she has to attend in the week.
