Number 8 In The House: Was Hosting Octopizzo At The Groove Awards Sinful? Here Is What You Need To Know

Before us lie two paths – honesty and dishonesty. The ignorant embark on the dishonest path; the wise on the honest. For in helping others, you help yourself; in hurting others, you heart yourself. Those who remain honest know the truth: character overshadows money, trust rises above fame. And honesty is still the best policy.

This is what many of us are trying to run away from while we harbor hypocrisy and pretense at theexpense of honesty and truth.

As I perused through different web pages to see what the world has to offer, I came across an article in Uliza Links, a local blog that deals with matters Christianity.

In the article, the blog stated how some gospel artistes and Christians condemned the move by Groove Awards organizers to invite hip hop maestro Octopizzo to the awards to present winners with their awards.

Some argued that it was not prudent to do so because this was a gospel affair and so there are so many people who could do this.

Octopizzzzo

Octopizzo at the Groove Awards over the weekend

This is hypocrisy of the highest order people. Haven’t we read our Bibles correctly those of us who purport to die for the Gospel of Christ? Haven’t we heard and learnt that Jesus Christ, the son of God who came to die for our sins, freely mingled with non-believers, ate with them, talked to them and then invited them to the Kingdom?

If Jesus could do this, who are you, a mere singer who cannot be nominated for an award, to judge Octopizzo and his appearance at the Groove Awards? Why do you want us to believe you are bitter because you were not nominated or rather you are a gospel D-lister!

Octopizzo’s appearance at the Groove Awards was meant to teach us something: Gather all and scatter none. And by the way who said Octopizzo is not saved? And who said all gospel singers are saved? Why are we quick to judge when we claim to have read our Bibles masterfully?

Aren’t these the reasons why some people feel secluded hence ending up being radicalized because their societies don’t appreciate them?

Personally I felt overjoyed when I saw Octopizzo glittering at the Groove Awards and when he presented that award to the best gospel hip hop singer, it was one of the best feelings because for once the gospel industry had managed to lure a secular singer to its event.

And by the way why did no one complain when Rabbit, Octopizzo, Jaguar, Wyre and others thronged Mathare when Bahati had a concert? Why did no one come out to complain like some people are doing now? This tells us that some singers are bitter for missing out on the nomination.

Sip some water, cool your anger and watch this space! It is time artistes intermingled freely and even considered collabos. Only D-listers would think this is a wrong move.
