Cock Crow at Dawn Star dies at 70
Veteran actor Kasimu Yero who was best known for his role as uncle Gaga in the now rested ’80s Comedy, Cock Crow at Dawn has been confirmed dead.
Mansur, Kesimu Yero, the eldest son of the deceased revealed that his father died in Kaduna after an illness.
Yero who has long been buried at Bachama Road Cementry in Kaduna was survived by eight children.
In a condolence message, Kaduna State Governor Nasiru El-Rufai described late Yero as a shinning star and a colossus of the Nigerian Entertainment industry that devoted his talent to nation building who preached unity across religion, ethnic and regional lines. He said ”we are proud of his contributions to culture and national unity” adding that the actor has mentored so many artists who are now household names.
The Governor condoled with the Zazzau Emirate and the Nigerian creative community.
Late Kasimu was one of the early popular northerners to feature in the country’s entertainment industry, his death came as a shock to the the northern creative community which he lived to mentor.
